Andrew de la Mare

Introduction

Andrew joins Partners in Performance with over 13 years’ experience in operational improvement, strategy and organisation consulting for large companies in a wide range of industries including mining, energy and financial services. He has worked across the globe including Chile, Argentina, Spain, Germany, USA and UK. Before Partners in Performance, Andrew worked at Roland Berger, Virtus Partners and was Partner for PwC´s strategy and operations consulting practice in Chile.

Career snapshot

  • Mining, Chile: Local and indigenous sourcing strategy for a multinational company in Canada and Chile. Baselining and category analysis for over US$3bn spend, including CapEx. Diagnosed sourcing capabilities and designed the improvement programme for planning, specifications, category strategy and contract terms.
  • Mining, Chile: Designed and implemented the financial due diligence model for strategic suppliers (individual annual spend >US$12m)
  • Food, Chile: Diagnosed operations and designed the turnaround programme for an animal protein processing company in its two operating plants, with identified savings of approximately 9% of in-scope costs.
  • Mining, Chile: Increased mine throughput by approximately 20% on two copper concentrate mines through improved mine processes, performance measurement and accountability, supervisory skills and work planning
  • Mining, Argentina: Increased mine throughput by approximately 14% in a gold mine through improved mine processes, performance measurement and accountability, supervisory skills and work planning
  • Service company, Chile: 30% headcount reduction for a 300-person operation, across three locations, through improved planning, processes, performance measurement and accountability, and supervisory skills

Education

Andrew holds an MBA from IE (Instituto de Empresa) and Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.
