Li Onn Teh


Li Onn Teh has always been interested in different approaches to a challenge and the analytics behind them. With that interest in mind, he was drawn towards the engineering field which enabled him to sharpen his analytical observation as well as strong work ethics and discipline. Before joining Partners in Performance, Li Onn had prior consulting experience on industrial engineering project in Victoria. He also spent multiple years in the education sector as a valued member of the mathematics and physics coaching community.

Li Onn has volunteered and worked on projects throughout both Australia and Malaysia, however it is a holiday in South Africa that has left the biggest impression on him. Travelling through Pilanesberg National Park, where wild animals roam in their natural environment, is an experience he won’t forget. For his next adventure, he has his sights set on a bungee jump from Macau Tower. When it comes to fun closer to home, you’ll find him on the hunt for great food to enjoy or cooking up a spread to share.

Career snapshot

  • Airline, Australia: Provided analytical input into the delivery of a multi-year $300m business transformation program. Developed a user-friendly flight cost model to enable in-house optimisation team to sustainably improve network profit contribution. Produced standardised reports for executive management meetings to drive prioritisation of high value initiatives.
  • Wind Tunnel Improvement, Australia: Diagnostic of a wind tunnel outflow to be used for medical aid equipment testing. Analysed and identified possible improvement to wind tunnel to further enhance quality reliability of client product. Solution increases outlet uniformity by 80% of initial standard deviation.
  • Education, Malaysia: Assessed potential overlaps of various education programs in Malaysia to shorten learning period and identify corrective measures to further enhance growth in the sector. Developed programme to build momentum on an individualised basis as a more effective coaching mechanism.
  • Manufacturing, Australia: Detailed design optimisation of gearbox production. Analytical input for cost saving effort to enable reduction of material usage. Applied 3D printing manufacturing prototype to allow for sustainable prototyping effort through the saving of cost and valuable time.


Li Onn’s qualification include a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Systems and a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Mechanical Systems with a finance breadth track; both from the University of Melbourne.
