Luizet Ruzow


Luizet has over 20 years of experience in tier one consulting companies on business transformation and long term strategy, with a proven track record in strategy development and implementation, restructuring, post-merger integration and turnarounds. Luizet has been involved in engagements across Africa, the Middle East and Europe, across a range of industries, including Financial Services, Telecommunication, FMCG and the Public Sector.

When she’s not working, Luizet finds relaxation through cooking and travelling with her husband and two teenage sons. She also loves going to the movies and reading.

  • Pan-African Integrated Financial Services Group: defined growth levers and portfolio optimisation, supported by a new target operating model
  • South African Resource Company: completed a business and strategy assessment for future viability from the perspective of the market opportunity, positioning and analysis of historical performance with co-development and monitoring of a sustainable turnaround plan (including operating model and, cost and productivity improvement)
  • Telecommunications company: pricing and cost model assessment for optimisation of technology and procurement operations with the objective of developing a best fit costing and transfer pricing model
  • Financial services industry: analysed and leveraged IT as an enabler in the industry for business strategy and market positioning, in countries where the Bank is aiming to be among the top 3 players
  • Identified as part of a Procurement Company Turnaround Programme, operational cost reduction opportunities, while developing new revenue strategy by leveraging the assets at hand
  • Indian Ocean conglomerate: led growth strategy of conglomerate with retail and wholesale trade businesses in different industries, as well as the implementation of the proposed strategy
  • Multination construction and engineering group: developed growth and expansion strategy spanning across four continents, including mergers and acquisitions, divestment decisions and capability-based strategies for existing businesses
  • Leading wealth management company: developed opportunities for an IT transformation programme including analysis and design of the initiatives and the value opportunities ranging from strategic sourcing to operating model design as part of the IT Transformation programme
  • Defense manufacturer (South Africa): completed cost reduction diagnostic in procurement and projects environment
  • Completed market analysis and building of a pricing model and framework including factors impacting the consumer pricing decision; resulting in a pricing framework/model incorporated in mid-term strategy planning for each country unit across Africa
  • Financial Insitution (South Africa): Implemented and rolled out a management information system, and the aligned performance measurement framework as well as change management in the commercial banking environment for 18 months, post the acquisition of a major South African bank
  • Hospital group (South Africa): Developed business strategy for a new loyalty company of a well-established hospital group in South Africa


Luizet holds an BA in Economics from Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey and an MBA from University of Liverpool in the UK. She also holds a certificate from MIT Sloan School of Management in innovation ecosystems.
