Timi Adelaja


Timi has over nine years’ industry and consulting experience in commodities trading, business development, and operations. She has worked across several commodity products, namely coal, gasoline, and naphtha. Prior to joining Partners in Performance, Timi spent six and a half years at Vitol as a Commercial Analyst, Treasury Associate, and Physical Operator. She also worked as an MBA Intern at Camco Clean Energy, analysing renewable energy project finance transactions. She has worked in the UK, Switzerland, South Africa, and Australia.

Career snapshot

  • Process transformation for an Australian university: Redesigned and implemented initiatives to transform the complex timetabling and course selection processes, delivering outcomes that improve the student and academic experience
  • Process improvement for a major construction project: Created and implemented improved practices for tracking procurement activities for the project to ensure readiness and minimise potential delays to project completion. Co-designed a management operating system to ensure tighter and more proactive management of the construction progress
  • Cost reduction and operating process redesign for an airline: Identified operational improvement opportunities of approximately $3m of costs, delivered a process redesign for planning and executing the flight schedule and established performance tracking tools
  • Operational improvements for a dairy manufacturer: Implemented operational improvement ideas such as improving turnaround time for production batches, contributing to a pipeline of initiatives worth over $20m
  • Project reviews for a utility company: Developed approaches and templates for conducting robust project completion and investment reviews for a large electricity generation company
  • Commercial sourcing for a transport company: Supported negotiations for subcontractor transport services for a large rail company for a cost reduction of approximately $3m


Timi’s qualifications include an MBA (INSEAD) and Masters in Engineering (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London.
