Frans is a Partners in Performance Director with more than 25 years of experience in operational improvement and line management.

He has led Program Management Offices (PMOs) and improvement projects in a variety of industries including mining, defence, manufacturing and oil and gas. He has managed several sites and international large‑scale transformation activities and has worked in Australia, Russia, Africa and throughout Asia. Before joining PIP, Frans spent time at Shell Oil & Gas rolling out a regional Lean program, and two years as project lead improving drilling and blasting performance at Anglo American Platinum.

A career highlight of Frans was the implementation of recommendations from the most far‑reaching review of Australia’s Department of Defence, where he led the Implementation Office and served on the Civilian Oversight Board.

Frans also led a programme over two years to redesign and implement new rock‑breaking and supporting management processes at the world's largest platinum mine. This led to a 10% increase in advance per blast coupled with a reduction in lost blasts to deliver a 100% increase of business area profit over the period.
